Time to re-strategize 

Joshua 7:26

Joshua 8:1-8

The distance between a great victory and a great defeat is only one step.

Ai is a very small village compared to the battles against great city of Jericho and other cities.... 

Ai was a place in central Canaan, the promised land God promised the Israelites. Which was the next objective in the path of conquest but the Israelites suffered an unexpected and a humiliating defeat. 

The defeat was the only defeat of Isreal’s army in the way to the promised land. Which was a dent of a perfect record of victories due to disobedience and not trusting in the lord but leaning on the own abilities. Proverbs 3:5

Causes of the defeat:

- Disobedient / Sin... there is consequences for all deeds. Galatian 6:7

- Self confidence and resting on past success . Underestimating the strength of the enemy and over estimating of your own strength.

- Not seeking the face of the lord before launching out. Taking God for granted 

- Ignorant of Achan’s sin

Disobedience brought:

- Delay

- Shame

- Depression 

- Inability to achieve the goal

Re strategize and take the following steps:

- Consecration 

   Joshua 7:6

   1 Corinthians 10:13

- Seek the face of God

   Joshua 7:8

- Rise up again

Joshua 7:10

Luke 22:55-63

Acts 2:14-16

God is a strategists. When you give up your overconfidence and trust the Lord’s leading he will teach you and lead you and show you what to do through his words, prayers and waiting on him.
